Causes of Dandruff:
Malassezia is a type of fungus that can cause dandruff. This causes severe damage to the hair on the head. Dandruff can be sticky and oily on your hair if you have another type of disease. Dandruff can be caused by a number of major causes.
Irregular brushing and hair washing.
Not using shampoo constantly
Faulty dietary Habits

Home Remedies -
The home remedies for dandruff are easy to understand. You can learn how to control or get rid of dandruff with these simple home remedies.
Diet to reduce Dandruff & Hairfall-
- Diet should be fresh, nutritious, rich in calcium-phosphorus-minerals-vitamins
- Avoid eating fried, spicy, bakery products, junk-fast food.
- Massage the scalp with lukewarm oil twice a week at night
- Avoid sleeping during the day (Metabolism slows down and nutrition is disturbed).
- Get 7 to 8 hours of restful sleep. - Avoid taking too much hot water on your head
- Shirshasana and Anulom Vilom Pranayama for 10 to 15 minutes daily (Avoid blood pressure and obese people)
- Avoid rubbing towels on wet hair, avoid combing wet hair.
- To wash hair once a week, use low-chemical and non-sulfate-free shampoo.
- Drink 2 to 2.5 liters of water daily according to the needs of the body.
- Avoid using styling sprays, waxes, and chemical cosmetics.
- Cow's milk, ghee, buttermilk, dry fruits should be used in the diet
- Cigarettes, tobacco, alcohol should be avoided.
Home Remedies -
Shikekai , Ritha for Hair wash-
Along with diet, you can use mixture of Shikekai powder and Ritha powder in 3: 1 proportion for washing your hairs.
Mix Shikekai and Ritha in the above proportion, take 2 teaspoon of this powder, and add in 1 liter of boiling water, boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Allow it to cool to body temperature. & use this herbal mixture to wash hairs once or twice a week.
Triphala Hair Rinse Tea -
Bring the good quality of Triphala powder from Market or mix good quality powder of Aamla, Harad, Bibhitak in equal proportion to make it Triphala powder.
Take 2 to 3 teaspoons of this powder and add it to the 1 liter of boiling water and allow it to boil for 5 to 8 minutes. Let it cool and strain through cloth or strainer.
Use this water as a Final rinse after Hair wash with Shikekai.
Do not run water through hair after this.
Use Medicated Hair oil -
Use Ayurvedic Medicated Hair oil on the scalp for massage.
Apply warm suitable Ayurvedic hair oil on the scalp and massage for 5 to 7 minutes, at least 2 hours before every hair wash. It will be better if you apply oil one night before washing your hair.
